The Romanian national 3×3 basketball tour, organized by Sport Arena Streetball, will have two stops in the western part of Romania, in Timisoara (July 15-16) and Oradea (August 5-6). Both tournaments are purple level, in the FIBA 3×3 Competition Network and are qualifiers to the Sport Arena Streetball Tour Final (Bucharest, August 18-20). The International Olympic Committee decided, on Friday, June 9th, to introduce 3×3 basketball into the Olympic programme, starting with 2020, in Tokyo. The only team sport that saw Romania win a medal at the last two European Championships (men’s contest and then women’s) was set on track towards the Olympic roster by a Romanian team, namely Sport Arena Streetball.
