The show is in Bucharest: Third edition of Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Challenger

Some of the best 3×3 basketball teams from Europe will battle for a place in FIBA 3×3 World Tour Prague during the third edition of Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Challenger, a competition organized by Sport Arena, 26-27 July, in one of the most iconic places in Bucharest, the University Square.

The FIBA 3×3 Competition Network is growing and more and more tournaments with a satellite status will send their winners to Bucharest Challenger, the next step in their road to the world stage. Satellites from Kosovo, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Georgia or Bulgaria were linked with the already traditional Bucharest tournament, who will feature a total of 16 teams, four of them being local.

The main goal is the qualification to the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Prague, but all the players will for sure keep an eye on the money prize. The winner will be rewarded with a 4000 USD prize, while the second place will receive 1000 USD.

Romanian 3×3 basketball stars like Angel Santana or Catalin Vlaicu will be once again in focus and will try to reach for the third consecutive years the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final.

Three point shootout, skills challenge and a slam-dunk contest will contribute to the show.

More than 10.000 fans cheered from the bleachers during two very entertaining days in 2013, with team Novi Sad hitting the jackpot. The Serbian team eventually finished second in the last year’s World Tour, behind Team Brezovica from Slovenia.

The organizers count also this year on a very large and entertaining crowd and hope that all the teams and their traveling fans will have a great time in Bucharest!
