Team Bucharest, tough mission at FIBA 3×3 World Tour Lausanne

For the fourth year in a row Romania will have a representative in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour. Team Bucharest will face some really tough opponents during the pool phase in Lausanne Masters, teams Trbovlje (Slovenia) and Malaga (Spain). The tournament takes place on August 28-29.

The Slovenians will try to defend their title in Lausanne, while Team Malaga stepped up to replace Team Yaounde as they finished second the last qualifier to Lausanne, the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Challenger.

Team Bucharest, the winner of the Sport Arena Streetball Quest, will feature three players of the champion team, Victor Constantin, Stefan Buruiana and Adrian Trandafir. Sergiu Souca will be the new addition, as Hristu Sapera, that was part of the winning team, has to serve his duties as the head-coach of the Steaua CSM EximBank, the Romania representative in Eurocup.

Pool games will start at 17.15 local time (GMT+2) on Friday live on FIBA 3×3’s official YouTube channel. The top-two placed teams from each pool advance to a standard knock-out round which starts at the quarter-finals stage, from 17.30 local time on Sunday.

Both of the finalists from Lausanne will get their tickets to the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final, that will take place in Abu Dhabi (UAE), October 15-16.
