The Romanian 3×3 basketball national team finished in the last sixteen at the first ever 3×3 World Championship, held in Athens between 23-26 August 2012, beating USA Basketball on their way to the knock-out round. The success against USA is an historic one for the Romanian Basketball and the game was just amazing, with Angel Santana nailing a three pointer with 3 seconds to go, for a 15-14 victory.
