Sport Arena UPB cruised in Istanbul over the team from Kragujevac, 21-5, in the groups of FIBA 3×3 World Tour Master and increase their chances to advance to the quarter finals of the competition. The four players reunited in Istanbul for the team Kragujevac, represented Serbia in the World University Games earlier this summer and won the world title in the final against Romanian university national team. The Romanian 3×3 basketball national team finished in the last sixteen at the first ever 3×3 World Championship, held in Athens between 23-26 August 2012, beating USA Basketball on their way to the knock-out round. The success against USA is an historic one for the Romanian Basketball and the game was just amazing, with Angel Santana nailing a three pointer with 3 seconds to go, for a 15-14 victory.
