It was almost a decade ago when some young guys were playing day in and day out 3×3 basketball on some terrible concrete courts. They weren’t thinking at all that someday this game could be part of the Olympic Games. But they had a dream.
In that dream appeared some nice courts, more people than just their friends and friends of friends, contests with prizes bigger than just the pride of the winner. And the most important thing of all, they dreamed that they can play everywhere in the world, against any opponent they could find, using the same rules, and playing on the same type of courts.
“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe”, are the words of a great dreamer and a former Nobel prize winner, Anatole France.
And these guys did just that. They dreamed, they believed, they planned and they acted.
Long story short, their efforts from the last nine years are now reflected in the performances of the Romanian players in FIBA 3×3 World Tour, the more and more people who come to their tournaments, players or spectators, the media coverage, the world class events they are organizing year after year (Sport Arena Streetball, European Dunk Contest, World Dunk Contest, Sport Arena Bucharest Challenger).
Now Sport Arena Streetball is considered by many one of the greatest 3×3 basketball competitions from all over the world, Romania has a good representation at international level, and those young guys’ dream come true, even now they are too old to play at the highest level.
And all those dreams were accomplished only because those guys have met during their journey the right people like you, excellent dialog partners about human and professional aspects, having the same vision. And those guys were so lucky to have the chance to work with you, year after year, project after project, event after event.
But they think that the best is yet to come!
