Visit Oradea Streetball, the teams’ last chance to secure tickets for the Sport Arena Streetball Tour final

Visit Oradea Streetball expects over 200 players at the start of the competition set for this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. This is the last stop in the 3×3 Sport Arena Streetball Tour 2017.

The tournament, hosted by Unirii Square, near the Moon Church landmark, offers the teams one last chance to qualify for the grand finale which is to be held in Bucharest, August 19th and 20th.

MMA fighter Sandu Lungu will test his basketball qualities at Visit Oradea Streetball during the Saturday evening session, as a special guest to the event.

3×3 basketball, the new Olympic discipline, will bring together in Oradea top teams from Romania and Serbia, fighting for points in the FIBA 3×3 World Rankings and prize-money. The winner of the men’s elite category will be rewarded with a check of 5000 lei, while the total prize money exceeds 15.000 lei.

The warm-up for Oradea Streetball is due to take place on the most modern outdoor basketball court in Romania, the one in the Brătianu Park, brought up-to-date with the latest FIBA standards. There, all basketball enthusiasts in Oradea are welcomed to ball until late at night, under artificial lights.

A very hot weekend is what Oradea has in store, both action-wise and weather-wise. The extreme temperatures expected led to a divided schedule for each of the two days: there will be two sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening. This leaves plenty of time for both players and spectators to cool down at the Nymphaea Aquapark or to take a nice walk and visit the Oradea Fortress.

Spectators will also get a chance to show their skills on the basketball court, during an interactive event that features many contests for the public. Dance routines, cheerleaders and non-stop music will add to the specific Streetball atmosphere, a truly urban sports festival.

The event is supported by Oradea Visit, CSM Oradea and Oradea City Hall. The National Sport Arena Streetball Tour is powered by Raiffeisen Bank, Nike, Fitbit, Gatorade, Ideal Board Games, Pegasus, Kiss FM.
