The elite 3×3 basketball teams representing the Netherlands, France, and Lithuania – the Paris 2024 Olympic medalists – are coming to Bucharest for one final showdown before the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final.
The event, hosted by ParkLake Shopping Center on November 8–9, is supported by CS Rapid Bucharest and organized with the backing of the Ilfov County Council.
Teams Amsterdam (Netherlands), Toulouse (France), and Raudondvaris (Lithuania), all featuring Olympic medalists from Paris 2024, will join the world’s current number one team, Ub (Serbia), at the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Bucharest Masters.
In total, nine of the top ten teams in the world will land in the Romanian capital for one last sprint before the grand final in Manama, Bahrain. The rest of the top 10 lineup includes Miami (USA), Chongming (China), Liman (Serbia), Riffa (Bahrain), and Vienna (Austria).
The total prize money for the event amounts to 135,000 USD, with the champions taking home a 40,000 USD check.
Romania will also be represented by Știința Bucharest, making their first appearance in this season’s World Tour after three Challenger events. Their best result so far was 10th place in Poitiers (France), and they currently rank 67th in the FIBA 3×3 world standings.
Four Olympic Champions in Bucharest
Fans will get the chance to witness several of the biggest stars in 3×3 basketball, including:
Worthy de Jong – the Dutch hero who hit the game-winner for Olympic gold in Paris;
Jan Driessen – the Control Tower of the Dutch team, winners of Olympic gold
Franck Seguela of France – Olympic silver medalist in Paris 2024;
Karlis Lasmanis and Nauris Miezis, Latvian legends, both Olympic gold medalists from Tokyo 2020.
Between games, spectators will enjoy entertainment and interactive contests featuring artists from the Bucharest Metropolitan Circus, dancers from Club Drag de Măgurele (Ilfov County), and performers from the Ana Dance School.
The show will also include the iconic FIBA 3×3 World Tour Slam Dunk Contest, featuring some of the best dunkers in the world. This will be the final competitive appearance of Polish dunk legend Rafal “Lipek” Lipinski, a four‑time World Tour Final champion.
“Dăruiește” – A Campaign for Good
During the event, the Romanian Basketball Federation will launch the “Dăruiește” (“Give”) donation campaign, inviting everyone to donate symbolic basketball-related items – balls, jerseys, or promotional materials – which will be distributed to underprivileged children, including those from Special Olympics Romania.
This initiative is part of the FIBA “Her World, Her Rules” and FIBA Foundation “Basketball for Good” programs, reaffirming the Federation’s commitment to inclusion, generosity, and social responsibility through sport.
The FIBA 3×3 World Tour Bucharest Masters will take place on November 8–9 at ParkLake Shopping Center, supported by CS Rapid Bucharest and organized with the assistance of the Ilfov County Council.
Local partners include Pep&Pepper, Lego, Popeye’s, World Class, MAC, and the Romanian Basketball Federation.
