Spectacular Finals in the Open Categories: Știința and CS Vâlcea 1924 Crowned Champions
The final stages of the elite categories, Men’s Open and Women’s Open, at the BCR Sport Arena Streetball Brașov kept the spectators on the edge of their seats.
CS Vâlcea 1924 triumphed in the women’s category, led by Alexandra Bobar, who scored a total of 22 points, earning her the MVP title and the best offensive performance of the tournament. She was awarded an Undone “Captain Ro” watch by Albini Prassa, the first limited edition watch series made for a Romanian artist. The watch honors Puiu Manu, the comic book creator who developed Captain Ro, Romania’s only superhero. Vâlcea edged past Backdoor in the semifinals with a 16-14 victory after overtime, thanks to a decisive basket by Georgiana Plăvițu, and defeated Agro Squad in the final by a single possession, 14-12.

In the Men’s Open, Știința București dominated the competition but faced a serious challenge in the final, where CSU ASE mounted a spectacular comeback in the closing moments. Marc Mitrică, the tournament’s top scorer with 40 points, heroically connected on two two-point shots that sent the game into overtime, benefiting from a missed free throw by Andrei Gheorghe. However, Gheorghe redeemed himself in overtime, sealing the game with a shot from beyond the arc, with a final score of 20-18 for Știința. Sebastian Costeiu was named the best player of the tournament in the Men’s Open and also received the Undone Captain Ro watch.

Both champion teams in the Open categories were rewarded with checks worth 1,000 euros.
