The international 3×3 basketball competitions will return to Romania at the end of June, 26-27, when Constanța will host, for the third time in a row, a qualifying tournament for the 3×3 Europe C. The FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup Qualifier tournament presented by Superbet will bring together 27 teams from 15 countries at the arranged arena on the Casino seafront.
The event is organized by the Romanian Basketball Federation, the Constanța County Basketball Association and Sport Arena Streetball with the support of Constanța City Hall and will be broadcast live on Digi Sport.
The Romanian women’s national team, which is qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, has already booked its tickets to the final tournament of the Europe Cup, thanks to its position in the world rankings. However, the girls will also play in the tournament in Constanța, just as they did in 2018, when the final tournament was organized in Bucharest.
Alongside Romania in the women’s tournament, several countries will be present: Latvia, Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Sweden, Great Britain, Ireland and Kosovo.
Romania’s men’s 3×3 basketball national team will have to fight in Constanța for a spot at the final of FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup , with 14 other national teams: Latvia, Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Sweden, Great Britain, Ireland, Kosovo, the Netherlands, Georgia and Cyprus.
In each category, the teams will be divided into four groups, with the first two ranked advancing in the knockout round. The winners of the four matches in the knockout round, qualify for the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup 2021.
