Belgium returns to the European Championships in the women’s competition after a two-year absence. Bronze medalists in 2014, at the first appearance of the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup on the calendar, Belgium is the least competitive team that will be showing up in Romania, according to the participating nations’ positions in the FIBA Federation Ranking (# 41).

Belgium comes with a well-balanced team, both in terms of the age of the athletes and height.

Fannie Vandesteene is the Belgian player with the most points in the World Rankings – a baller whose sporting career has been crippled by numerous injuries. Jaleesa Maes is an ambitious center, with lots of humour,  while Romina Ciappina is quite the globetrotter type, having played in Belgium, Slovakia, Italy, France and the United States, where she signed a contract for a WNBA training camp at Atlanta Dream.
