3×3 June Fever: Sport Arena starts in style the 2015 season

Inspired by the famous March Madness, Sport Arena starts the new 3×3 basketball Romanian season with a similar concept, the 3×3 June Fever.

With ten consecutive days of 3×3 basketball games and a total of 12 in just two weeks, with three competitions going on one after another, it’s a perfect way to start a summer with plenty events to come.

The final rounds of Sprite Streetball Battle – the High School 3×3 Championship, the Final Tournament of the 3×3 University Championships and the first tournament of the season of the already worldwide popular Sport Arena Streetball are taking place between May 29th and June 12th.

The high school ballers already broke the ice, with the first tournament from the zonal round taking place on May 29th in the schoolyard of National College “Sfantul Sava”, one of the most iconic high-schools from Bucharest, founded in 1688!

The high-school competition continues between June 1st and 4th in the newest shopping facility opened in the Romanian capital, Mega Mall.

During past weekend, on May 30th and 31th, University of Agronomical Science and Veterinary Medicine hosted the Final Tournament of the 3×3 National University Championships. University of Alba Iulia in women’s competition and University of Pitesti in men’s competition were the winners. Both will represent Romania at the 3×3 European University Championships, that will take place in Serbia, between July 23rd– 26th.

Then, Sport Arena Streetball will start its 11th consecutive season, with a tournament organized in the University of Politehnica Bucharest, in one of the most popular 3×3 basketball arenas of the world.

The high-school athletes will close the 3×3 June Fever with the Final Round of their championship, that will take place in University Plaza, the same spot that hosted the first ever edition of 3×3 European Championships and is the annual host for the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Challenger.

Rafal “Lipek” Lipinski and Dimitry “Smoove” Kryvenko are ready to put up a big show in front the enthusiastic high-school kids while the cheerleaders from “Dracula’s Girls” team and the local rapper Skizzo Skillz will energize the crowd even more.

Sport Arena is one of the main 3×3 basketball promoters in the world, with more than 10 years experience in organizing 3×3 basketball events, and this year and in 2016 will be the local organizer for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final that will take place in Abu Dhabi.
