The best players from the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series will go head-to-head with rising Olympic hopefuls from the FIBA 3×3 Nations League on the court set up inside ParkLake Shopping Center, from August 7-9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After picking up its first two wins of the season in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series this year, CS Rapid, Romania’s only professional team on the women’s 3×3 world circuit, will host its home stop of the tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led on court by French star Hortense Limouzin, who represented France at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the team will face off against top sides including the Netherlands, fresh off a win in Tokyo, as well as Germany, France and Beijing. The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series, which brings $50,000 in prize money to Bucharest, is a hybrid competition open to both national teams and private or club sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the second consecutive year that CS Rapid has organized this elite event, with free public access to all matches and activities at ParkLake Shopping Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bucharest returns to the professional women’s world circuit, the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series, joining stops in cities such as Amsterdam, Vienna, Manila, Baku, Singapore, Bordeaux, Bangkok and Tokyo. Teams are competing for prize money as well as a spot in the grand final in Shanghai, where CS Rapid finished seventh last year. Sixteen teams from 11 countries will take part in the tournament hosted by ParkLake Shopping Center, with Romania represented by CS Rapid, the national team, and Team Bucharest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future Olympic Stars Come to Bucharest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The FIBA 3×3 Nations League \u2014 where players under 23 compete for a spot at the U23 World Cup \u2014 will bring together storied European basketball nations for the Bucharest leg at ParkLake Shopping Center. Greece, France, Serbia, Spain, Great Britain and Romania will face off over three days. The Nations League, whose Bucharest stop is organized by Sport Arena Streetball, serves as a launchpad for the next generation of 3×3 stars \u2014 players fans may see competing at future Olympic Games, including Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Open-Air Urban Sports Festival<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the 3×3 basketball action taking place in the atrium inside ParkLake Shopping Center, fans can enjoy a full open-air urban sports festival with activities for the whole family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fan zone will feature themed games and contests with prizes, a console gaming area, a volleyball court, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between matches, both on the main court and in the fan zone, there will be plenty of entertainment, including dance crews, cheerleaders, and performers from the Metropolitan Bucharest Circus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
