An intense weekend is expected with hundreds of matches at Poli Arena during the third stop of the 2024 BCR Sport Arena Streetball season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the first two tournaments of the year kicked off in May, it\u2019s time for a stage that starts in June. And that will be reflected in the thermometers\u2014over 30 degrees across three days, during which more than 400 players will once again storm the courts at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have a seasonal record of teams registered in the U18 category, with 19 teams lined up at the start. After passing their linguistic and digital competence tests, high school seniors are ready to show their skills in 3×3. No other age category has as many registered teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The competition will be fierce, from U12, where Sharks City aims to reach their third final in a row, to O35, where the two tournaments so far have seen four different finalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contests and Entertainment Throughout the Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n While matches are being played on the three courts, contests with prizes will be organized in the fan zone, where both resting players and the audience cheering them on can participate. We\u2019re bringing back \u201cX and O,\u201d something not to be missed, \u201cThe Cage,\u201d as we\u2019ve titled the classic shooting contest at the \u201carcade\u201d structure, and the famous \u201cSnake.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dunk contests won\u2019t be missing either, with one dedicated to kids under 12, as well as the usual Dunk-Contest, where the prize is a 4K Q-LED TV offered by Horizon. While players perform aerial stunts, the audience will also enjoy acrobatic moments during the breaks between games, with artists from the Bucharest Metropolitan Circus adding a magical element to the 3×3 courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And NBA2K fans should come prepared because we\u2019re once again offering licenses for the famous console game in ad-hoc competitions organized in the fan zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Top Favorites in the Open Categories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u0218tiin\u021ba Bucure\u0219ti, the Men\u2019s Open champion from the second tournament in Bra\u0219ov, returns with a different lineup but still features Sebastian Costeiu, MVP of the stop in Bra\u0219ov. Two of the members of the winning quartet from Bra\u0219ov will play for Romania U23, alongside Aurelian Gavriloaia, a member of the 3×3 national team. CSU Pite\u0219ti is back, and Agro Squad, another club with a strong tradition in this sport, has two teams at the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the women\u2019s category, the battle will be between Agro Squad and CS V\u00e2lcea, the winners of the first two tournaments of this season in that order, and Sportul Studen\u021besc, which will try to disrupt the plans of the two champions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Go, Romania!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The yellow code won\u2019t just be for the heat but also for basketball fever.
