Romania, qualified for the 3×3 World Championships in 2016

Romania will be present in three out of four 3×3 World Championships that will be organized in 2016. Three national teams qualified for their respective age and gender categories thanks to the country position in the FIBA 3×3 Federation Ranking and the results from the past editions.

The good news are reffering to both senior National Teams, men and women and the Boys U18 National Team.

After the 3×3 European title won in Bucharest, in 2014 and the eighth place in Moscow, at the 3×3 World Championships, both results obtained by Angel Santana (photo), Bogdan Popescu, Catalin Vlaicu and Vasile Stefan, the men NT will travel in Guangzhou, China. There, between 5-11 November will take place the third edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Championships. The women NT will be also there, after finishing on 7th place in Moscow in 2014 with the team composed by Anca Șipoș, Cristina Bigică, Andra Haas și Flori Diaconu.

Between 5-17 June, in Kazakhstan, will take place the U18 3×3 World Championships, and Romania will be there only in the boys tournament. Amedeo Casale, Nandor Kuti, Bogdan Nicolescu și Andrei Iliescu reached the quarter finals last year in Debrecen and were only few seconds shy from the semifinals.

Romania is still on good positions in the FIBA 3×3 Rankings, thanks to numerous FIBA Endorsed competitions organized by Sport Arena and other private promoters.
